Silverish Simplicity emerged naturally from a season of change and learning. First inspired by Ann Patchett's story "How to Practice: I wanted to get rid of my possessions because my possession stood between me and death." in The New Yorker, I've thoughtfully ''practiced" the art of letting go of a long life chapter of our family home, a career, etc., to embrace an intentional and simplified way of living.
From the silly to the earnest, I have been encouraged to share a growing collection of thoughts and ideas on living a purposeful life. These little "shimmers" of simplicity are ones I have found to be sustainable and sustained.
Whether you are looking to downsize, move or just live with less, my blog,
The Silver Thread, is created to provide practical ideas or things to ponder once a week. They provide a mirror-like reflection of the brilliance of living simply. Interested in letting your life shine bright with greater ease and time-saving ways?
What inspirations will you find in Silverish Simplicity? From family history and memories to space, cleaning, nature, and cool things, this blog is a breezy, shiny place for no-fuss, practical ideas.
Drawing from years of experience as a mother of four, wife, sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, aunt, colleague, neighbor and friend, the "ish" in Silverish signifies that these inspirations span ages and places, offering a close-to-home feel. As a lifelong learner, I'll also share insights from books and podcasts to keep expanding our knowledge together.
